August 2008 Update: Most of us are wishing July goodbye with few fond memories. The wet and stormy weather has caused havoc up and down the country. However it was another busy month at Southern Monograms. We completed thousands of aprons for our wine clients last month and this is certainly one sector of the New Zealand economy that is booming. The falling dollar and bumper crop promise more great things. Aprons : We offer our own range of black aprons in four styles, as the pockets are embroidered prior to being attached to the body of the apron, these can have very large logos. We also offer an ex-stock range from Biz Collection these can only have small logos as they already have the pockets sewn on. Click here to see our ex-stock range --->>. We have made several custom aprons in special fabrics, styles and dimensions. If you require something special or unique (minimum 24 units) please contact us with details. We will be consolidating another indent apron order shortly for delivery late November early December. We will be sending information with details to all wineries and coffee roasters in due course. Graffiti - The Empire Strikes Back!: We recently received an e-mail from a 'Graffiti Artist' it opened with "i have noticed that your location in town is constantly attacked with tagging". Well it certainly hasn't escaped our attention nor the attention of our clients, suppliers and others. While our correspondent generously offered to paint his own design on our wall what he didn't realise was that we we were already planning a solution in league with 'Compliance Fire Protection'. Warwick Taylor and his team have installed the South Island's first Anti-graffiti Stormwall System to the exterior of our premises at 1 Carlyle Street. The system has been operational for two weeks and our walls have remained blue and free from unsightly tagging. We have demonstrated our new preventative system to many impressed people since its installation. Next time you cross the Colombo Street overbridge look at our graffiti free building and consider contacting Warwick warwick@cfpl.co.nz if tagging is causing you grief. If you see tagging in process do the right thing and call 111, as our local Community Constable says "tagging is a crime in progress" and it is easier to prosecute offenders caught in the act.
30th Anniversary: Being a caring and generous employer I have arranged for the Team at Southern Monograms to spend the day in Nelson on Monday 15th September. Our offices will be closed for the day. This promises to be a great day out and is a fitting reward for many years of great service and dedication from many members of our staff. It will also be an opportunity to see Mel Wilson off as she is taking maternity leave from the end of September.
