Thanks to everyone who helped make July another record breaking month for us. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
I was in Greymouth for the launch of the Solid Gold / Coast Gold Radio Station last week the event went very well. I had a brief chat with Grey District Mayor Tony Kokshoorn and he was extremely upbeat. Apparently the coast has record low unemployment, house prices are up considerably and the economic outlook is bright especially in the tourism and mining sectors. I also had the opportunity to visit some of our existing loyal clients on the coast and all seemed to echo Tony's sentiments. Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) www.tpp.ac.nz is offering a wide range of practical courses across New Zealand and is opening a scaffolding School in Dubai. Shantytown www.shantytown.co.nz has re-branded and recently hosted a major ecotourism conference on behalf of TPP. Monteith's Brewing Company www.monteiths.co.nz are still producing a range of great brews including their seasonal limited releases. Things are definitely charging ahead on the West Coast.
The drive between Christchurch and Greymouth is still absolutely awe inspiring and filled me with pride to be a Mainlander. For those of you who have never made the trip it is a must do when in the South Island and I can highly recommend a meal at Jackson's Historic Tavern - www.jacksonstavern.co.nz Stu Lingard will definitely look after you. From the Heaphy Track in the north at Karamea down to Haast in South Westland there is plenty to see and do on the West Coast, the locals are extremely friendly and the food is fantastic.
