A design can look great on screen but still need a little extra work before it’s ready for your chosen product. This guide covers which files to send us, what to check and where some professional artwork preparation might help.

Why an image may need work
An image can look sharp on a phone yet print blurred or pixelated. Fine lines, tiny text, soft shadows and fading edges can also reproduce poorly. Simply changing the file to PDF or EPS, or changing its resolution setting, does not add missing detail. Automatic tracing or AI upscaling may change the design and still need professional correction.
Files that give us the best starting points

| Logos and lettering | Genuine vector artwork in PDF, EPS, SVG or Adobe Illustrator (.ai), with text converted to outlines (shapes). A low-resolution image placed inside a vector file still has the same limitations. |
| Full-colour images | The original high-resolution PNG or JPEG. Aim for 300 pixels per inch (PPI, often called DPI) at the final print size: a 30 cm-wide print needs about 3,550 pixels across. Use PNG where a transparent background is required. |
Requirements differ between screen printing, transfers and sublimation. We will confirm what is suitable for your job.
What to send us
Please send us:
- Your original download and any separate logo or editable design files. Avoid screenshots or images copied from a mock-up.
- The product, product colour, print position and intended print dimensions in cm or mm.
- Exact wording and any brand colour references. Check spelling and detail, and tell us whether the background should print.
- Your required delivery date, and confirmation that you have permission to use the artwork.
What if the file is not suitable?
We can discuss a simpler design, a suitable printing method, or having the artwork professionally redrawn. Extra design work may add cost and time; agree these with us before work begins. Some images cannot be reproduced satisfactorily.
A digital proof shows the proposed design and placement. Printed colours can differ from your screen, so discuss any colour matching requirements with us before approving your proof.
